The C-word...But Not The One You Think

Blog viewers are erupting with glee at the sight of my post today! I know the amount of runway shots are seemingly endless, but try and suffer through, because Chloe (the much anticipated Paris collection), is here. Hannah MacGibson (Phoebe Philo's successor) delivers the it-girl sensibility synonymous with the brand.

Paris Fashion Week: Tres Chic or Tres Foo?

Keeping it Rock and Roll at Balmain. Notice the Sgt. Peppers-esque jacket.

Runway.............

The past two days' shows admittedly haven't blown me out of the water. Yesterday I didn't really see anything blog-worthy. Today was better. Viviennne Westwood Red Label turned out for example. The clothes were quintessentially Vivienne-totally punk, totally London, but on the practical side. I can see them being worn by your everyday fashion follower. Fashion Fringe ( the competition show, aiming to spark new fashion talent in London) was young, bold, and very trendy. The clothes looked a little bit like they were hijacked out of the pages of Nylon magazine, but still commenable. My favorite show by far, was Erdem (a "Fringe" alum). The clothes were gorgeous. They looked like the product of Erin Fetherston and Monet procreating.

New York...a week later.

I think Kiki is the perfect muse/model for Boy by Band of Outsiders. She brings the effortlessly cool, slightly rumpled clothes to life. Which is a good segway to.....

Rag and Bone! Meanwhile....

Halston honored seventies glamour

And Marchesa blew everyones' minds. I wish I had the money and occasion to wear these gowns...This is one thing I can't get a good knockoff of at Urban Outfitters. Alas...

London Calling, Day 2.

Admittedly, Temperly was yesterday, but I loved her feminine and fantastical creations so much that I felt I should post some of them. I like how she has these ruffly foppish dresses worn with clunky, indelicate heels or gladiators. It helps bring them down to earth a little bit.

Giles was today, and although I thought the collection was a little disjointed and a little bit long, I liked this piece. It's probably just because Agyness Deyn is working it, and she reminds me of Edie, but that's okay.

London's Swingin'

Here are some of my favorite looks from Luella, a quintestially London designer:

And thus begins London Fashion Week...

London is my favorite place in the world. I first traveled there in 5th grade and have felt an intrinsic connection to it ever since. Many of my favorite cultural institutions are products of Britannica- The Beatles, Charles Dickens, Sienna Miller, The Clash, and Mick Jagger just to name a few. I love the quirky, carefree style of English girls, and that's just why I am so enthused for London Fashion Week. I can't wait to view today's shows, ecspecially Luella!!! Stay tuned!
